Is there anywhere else to fish? I'd get lost on the way to a river mark, just dunno where to go yet...it will be as impulsive as last year, forecast is all over the shop.

Not having fished a comp before, just a question, but can you just fish wherever within the boundaries?

so first come first served etc?

1st come best spot?

tes thats the way it works @ a 2metre rule applies, meaning say your fishing a rock mark like myself? if theres only enough room for 2 anglers,3nd angler carnt fish next to you if you enforce the said rule.

yes you can fish anywhere within the boundaries, you could start at the Brigade hut then go to Frenchmans then Whitburn then back to the brigade hut. The river marks used to be certain marks i.e Jarrow riverside park and mill dam etc but Fluffchucker didnt state this in an earlier post which may have been an oversight or a rule change, i think thats what Yours Truly was getting at. Im getting my ticket tomorrow so will clarify when i get it.

Cheers lads, I was thinking it was tickets and you got allocated an area to fish, lol.

So I guess its a mad rush to get to the "favoured" spots before start times?

Usually the best marks are busy from at least a couple of hours before start time. Its not uncommon for people to camp out overnight to get the best spots. I have been known to be on a mark from 7am with an 11am comp start time...and didnt weigh in!

Just the one rod mate, you can take more but must not have a line running through the rings, this is worded as "a running line" in rule books. No more than 2 hooks usually on rigs too.
