had a mini tourney at ss pier from 10-30 till 5 today 6 people in it me codfather145 mad rob fishingmark fishfingers son grant and his m8
2 quid a man for the longest fish
quite a few on there anyway a pod of dolphins swimming round allday
robs first fish a 33cm coalie
then fishingmark a small diseesed dab
rob a 31cm flounder
mad rob then a dab

mad rob then a lobster

then grant comes up with a 39cm coalie think he caught it yesterday and kept it in his box ,stiff as a board, only joking kidda

young grant collecting his winnings
which was 2 quid short as fishingmark put a i. o. u. in has he left cash in his van.......?????? dodgy fella
moved to the gates where codfather145 got a cod

and i got a flounder
left the pier and headed to the ratty where we had eelpouts, coalies,coddies and whities
all in all a great day with great banter
welldone also on the toons win making it a better day
met up with big paul and his gang nice lads
plus met bigfen at the ratty
sun, banter,fish and great company

I've never fished SSP before but heading there with bro-in-law today. Gonna aim near the gates I think.

Pretty quiet last couple days. My advice would be get on the rubble for abit sport with the coleys. Grant had 8 out yeterday compared to my 1 flounder at the 44 !!!
(Although my flounder was a far superior Fish)

We're thinking of hitting the rat house for a few hours first, and see how that fishes, then head up to ssp or the walkway (walkway might be a bit more sheltered from the wind)

All new marks for us to fish (coming down from Blyth)

The rat house was poor last night with the big rods but 5 yards out with small hooks and worm baits we had about 15 fish coalie eelpouts. Codling a and whiting all small but good fun

It is a big tide today for the Walkway, if you are going to fish there bring plenty of rigs and sinkers as the tide will pull you into snags unless you are lucky

Ill have blueys, lug, squid, but could pick up some rag or razor if it was effective yesterday.

The last few times I fished this wek, what is there has been very Finnicky and only taking certain baits (fresh lug only)

Lug on its own or muscle and squid tied together on pier but ratty was rag tipped off with a small bit blacks

It was a great day on Sunday had great fun just a shame I only got small codling.
But at the end of the day a cod is a cod no matter how small.
Maybe that's why I'm the codfather
