had a run down the pier again yesterday hoping there would be a little movement with the slight north wind end of pier looked like mackerel season so started off down by the post into the estuary 1st chuck sees me into a decent fish only to be hung up on the ropes of a pot 30 yds out me pal was having no luck loosing alot of gear so we had a run up to the end 50 yds left of the blocks and landed 4 whiting 1 of which had no stomach and only 1 side of its face intact. me mate simon blanked again as he has done everytime hes fished the pier LOL :D:D

bait was lug and mussell

Not much off the pier at the minute. I fished the SE corner for five hours on Saturday night and only had five whiting, nothing before it got dark. One lad had a codling about 2lbs but that was the only decent fish I saw. Some lads leaving said they had caught nothing all day.
Things can only get better as the winter draws in:)

hardlines m8 on the good fish you lost still beats sitting in the house one of the lads on the end lost one around 7lb mark on the lift :D

Not sure what happened to the fish mate i really struggled to grt it in kept coming but almost felt stuck very very heavy when it came in it was fastened to a another rig and found the fish ripped to bits

A seen the lad fetch the biggin in jimmy all a could hear was f!!! Its fell off was gutted for the lad

If there is any chance to walk the fish you should try. I saw a very good angler at Hartlepool hook into an 8lb er and he walked it from the end to the steps easing it along. 2-0 hook on a two hook flapper. I went down the steps and got the fish by the gills for the lad.
