South shields pier 11/12/2011

Fished from 12:30 - 7:30
Started iff at the blocks but had ne luck there at all managed to get on the end and still had ne look although fish were being pulled in left right and centre
Only had rag mussel and frozen blacks

Still i stuck it out and decided on a move to the south east corner and within 1 minit of the bait hitting the water BANG !!! rod went owa and out came a nice plump cod around the 4.5lb mark
An hour later and again ne more knocks ,, only had that 1 knock all day

I didnt mate it was taken on blacks and mussell it was the only bite i had of the day

I hand balled his 4.5lb cod not the rod mate i seen it go in though it was a youngin that got it out for him

Ive always rated mussell although it can sometimes have its bad days

Well done David mate, told you those coddies would come eventually.

The only fish a had on mussels was a big chubby whiting, typical haha . Nice to see ya got one though mate, when a got back to weigh in mine weighed 5lb 2ozs, made heaviest fish but didn't quite get heaviest bag. Still, nixe fishies for both of us.

Again, a big well done buddy.

When yas left mate the whole place went dead , fish seemed to just switch off
