South Shields Pier

After a blank session over high water at Blyth I went home for a couple of hours sleep before heading to Shields for the low tide. The ebb brought nothing, but an hour into the flood I caught this surprise 6lb pollack. It fought really hard trying to reach the bottom, and was caught on rag tipped with squid. I was hoping for a decent cod but I'm happy with this!.

Good catch for the area, better than a cod as no other had a fish of this stamp from our localised shores.
Great report and good stamina to hit the shore again after returning for some shuteye. Well done
