Does anyone know if the pots are still sitting off the right hand side of the pier?

Yes they are, I was there first thing Monday morning and the little boat was going along the side of the pier dropping pots. He started just off the blocks then layed them until about 100 yards past the end into open sea. The first pot is marked with a bouy with a flag on it. I wouldn't worry about them though. I fished over the top of them for a few hours and only snagged up a couple of times.

That,s ware the lobsters live,looking at fourcast the pots will be coming in, probably today,good luck Davy you taking the son (scotty) im thinking about a trip to port Carlisle Sunday if any one fancys a trip over

scotty don't think Friday will be a good fourcast for the castle big swells north-easterly winds DANGER springs to mind
was just saying, the lobster`s don`t just stick to the pier`s, it`s a bit bad crack putting there pots so close. a can`t reach the pots of tynemouth pier (casting), and there`s none anywhere near blyth pier. just think you lads who fish there are in for some tackle buying.

Hi m8t yes pots are still there and me i would/nt waste my time fishing over pots as too much gear is lost but its your funeral so if i were you i would take heed and avoid that area okay

Did you go to pier Dave,? how did you get on mate owt or nowt, guessing the latter with no reports up. Well plrnty of reports but there from months ago haha.

There layed there for the grown . Lobsters like rocks and kelp. Amd crabs like sand. I know its a pain but fineding a place to put your pots in the first place with out upseting outher boats is no mean feet. Most of the seas round are coast are clained by a few boats. The lad has to make his money and put food on the table. Dont think he collecting tackel

I did go out mate but blanked. I was only spinning on my light gear to see if i could get a bit sport off the coleys or maybe a pollock. The nets were not a problem tbh as i never hooked them once but i do understand the lad who puts them out has a living to make.
I will probably put my spinning gear away for a couple of weeks then head up to Eyemouth & St Abbs once the seas settle down & the water clears up

took the kids out last night for a bike ride there were loads of fish rising on the tyne at the bottom of the derwent not sure what they were,may be waiting for the new fish pass at derwenthaugh when its finished
