hi all first time out after returning from scotland.went past first gate 10 yards, first chuck, just under 2lb whiting,second chuck,just over a 1lb.then loads of little whiting not worth the a mention. the winds picking up now,weather still good, becoming dusky. changed my bait to rag with a little bit frozen black.put my new imax lite coat on. fantastic coat lovely and warm.anyway talked to a few passers by, and bang, big bite went for it hooked it, thinking to myself this is a big fish,felt like it,reeled it in to find a huge bloody crab on it. sick is a chip.spent 10minutes just trying to get it of the hook.returned it back to the water.continued to fish and another two big whiting. wow so glad i returned back to fishing.all in all a good day for a short few hours.i feel like the hunter gatherer now providing food for family. cant wait for my first big cod. well happy.:red:

lol it happened to me the other week m8 i thought i was into a goodun but turned out to be a lobby. it was still the best catch of a crap nights fishin anyway
