South Wales rough ground tactics

Hi lads, posting from south wales.

What sort of set ups do you use for rough ground?

I use a 13 foot conoflex
Mitchell 398 fixed spool, fast retrieve, multipliers offer no advantage over the rocks for close range night fishing

30 pound straight through, usually cheaper line

Mixed ground I use a pulley rig, 12 inch snood, 14 inch lead snood, not power casting

Very rough I use a simple main line to swivel, lead tied to lower eye, 18 inch snood to single hook coming off same eye as main line goes to, I use this rig in close, not for pendulam casting

Spark plugs with a thin strip of lead sheeting coiled round the base, this steps up a spark plug up to about 5 ounces

I know a lot of people use grippers but I dont fish big tides and the pull isnt too much

If its really rough ground old nuts and bolts, mixed ground usually plain leads, which I pick up at low water when I am out walking

English side, bristol, is good fishing, for info on that veals have a dedicated section

hi south wales

well when i used to fish down that way i used to us a shimano tsm11cfs loaded with 20 lb line and a 60lb shock leader i used to use pulley rigs with gripleads with a 10lb rotten bottom and realy fine wire hooks so that they would bend out and i realy didnt lose much tackle at all

so are you from barry

cheers sean
