Please spare a thought today for the 189 men who lost their lives in the Eyemouth Fishing Disaster on October 14th 1881.
Over a Century ago but still a very very sad day

My thoughts as well.
Thanks for reminder but up till your post I didn't know about this disaster.
After googling, and finding more about this black Friday disaster I must feel for the wives,mothers and children that within sight of there loved ones returning to Eyemouth harbour seeing there boats lost on Hurkar rocks just outside of the harbour must have been heartwrenching.
After reading your post I intend to visit Eyemouth this week and visit the memorial for them and silently give my condolences.
