What about a NESA Species Mission similar to the one the Sea Angler run.....?

Reckon it would be good - and hopefully encourage people to look outside the box a little in trying different tactics.

What do you think? Been done before?

id have a go.. have only been back into fishing since january and have already cought, codling, red kelp cod, rockling, coalie, polock, whiting, mackrel, flounder and eals.. and i'm hoping to get upto St abbs this weekend and get my first Wrasse.

how would a spicies thingy work then.. obviously over a set time and all fish would have to be photoed but (as i say to our lass) does size matter ??

I would say the following criteria should apply:

  • Has to be North East Coastline - as this is NESA
  • Size does not matter ;)
  • Posts must include tactics used, Photo and Location
Anyone else out there interested? Or is just me and Phil?

heres a few

I think the reason there is a general lack of enthusiasm (other than Phil and me ;) ) in this endeavour is because many people "out there" have already caught the fish listed - therefore why try again?

How about this then?

A weekly/bi monthly/monthly species to catch? or maybe even 2/3 species over a month - intentionally targeted and not caught "by chance"

I fancy trying for those Wrasse at St Marys this friday night so what about starting with that? maybe a couple of the other species as well?

cool with me.. i'll still be lugging my big rod out hoping for cod but will use my second rod and my float/spinning gear aswell..

Ok so this month Wrasse and what else Pollock ? bass maybe? or should we go for somthing we'll catch like mackrel lol

It's me and thee so far then :D we may as well kick it off...

Aye - Wrasse, Pollock and Bass (fooking hell ;) never caught one but hey isn't that the point?;) )

has to be photo'd with location and tactics used...

First week in September we see how we've fared....unless we've caught them before then  :exclam:

Game on.. have read reports or wrasse and pollock being caught locally and i'd say dunstinbrough or st abbs is the best bet, the bass is another matter but have got a few plugs so might through them in off the rocks at the weekend. good luck mate!

mebbes we should have started with mackerel, coalies and the humble rock blennie...i coulld have scored all of those on friday night...........

Good luck mate

Count me in aswell. I'm going to be up at Seahouses a lot over the next few week's so i'll take the camera along.
Should manage the wrasse and pollock with a bit of luck but haven't got a clue where i will catch bass..
