Ive been shore fishing for a year now, last year when i started i was just using daylights in the summet, then got ryt into it through the winter.
Ive recently been trying a bit of spinning but had no outcome if it. Dont know what im doing rong, any help would be appreciated on the follwoing.
Im using a carp rod i was given a while back with a old reel that broke last night, 20lb line with 55lb shok and 30gr silver minnow spinner's.

Ideally what rod, reel, line (shok if needed and spinners (of what type) would be best.
Want to target bass, maky, pollak wrass, coalie... All the usualls.
Any advice on were is best or good marks would be a great help aswell.
Tried the lease yesterday & looks like some nice places down there...

Cheers in advance :)

IMPO light 7 ft spin rod cheep ! 3000 -5000 size fixed spool got mine at Lidle 10lb line you don't need any thing more around here. A set up like that will give you hours of sport and fun you don't have to spend a lot :D:D:D
as for technique PM me i'll take you down and show you.
don't know everything but happy to pass on what I do know

No need to use a schockleader since your spinner only weighs 30 grams. 20lb line is a bit heavy for spinning though if it's heavy ground and you are near the bottom you may lose less gear with 20lb but if you use a lighter line your spinner will cast further. Some people prefer braid but I like to use clear mono 12lb to 14lb which is strong enough to pull out of a weed snag but still light enough to cast well. You could use lighter line if it's clean ground and there is no kelp about (10lb).

15lb line is the max ive ever went matey!!
also on technique when your spinner hits the water wait about 5seconds then
reel in that helps the spinner get to the desired depth:)
when reeling in its up to you really but i like to reel in a jerking motion but
it depends on the lure you use ie spinners/plugs/feathers but remember your
imetating a small of wounded fish so try some jerky motions next time mate!
also the water clarity pays a vital part aswell:)

no need for me 2 add out, cos the lads have covered it, only advice a can give you, is take
big dru`s offer, and al meet you`s done there,
don`t be worried wen u see the size of him, he`s a cracking lad and knows his fishing.

You can't go far wrong with a 5000-6000 sized shimano reel bit more money but well worth it.also dexter wedges are a decent spinner I've had bass and macky on them and there cheap as chips.
