Spinning reel

I've just got a Shimano Vengeance Sea Spin Bass (8ft, 20-60g), to try some spinning this summer. I've got a Shimano Exage 5000 reel that I used on my 2-4oz bass rod, but it's a bit big for the spinning rod, so I'm looking at getting a 3000 or 4000 size reel. Any recommendations? What size are people using on an 8ft rod? (I've ordered some spectra braid .28mm off eBay aswell).

Pretty much on the right track Andy I have a 4000 size for my 8ft a 3000 for my 7ft 10" and a 2500 for 7ft rod . For line choice I use nanofil on me 4000. And 15lb braid on me 3000 while I drop to 6lb braid for me 2500....hope this helps bud

I like Okuma reels at the minute, the HS Trio and the Hexana are both cracking reels

I've got a shimano stradic GTM RC 4000 on my 8ft bushy. It's a fantastic reel. Really strong and the 12lb braid flies off it.
