SQuid as bait

when is the best time to use plain squid as bait ...also can u catch squid with a squid jig in the north east ........cheers....

Ya can use squid all year round mate.

Never heard of poeple fishing for squid in the north east.

There was one caught off the big beach in south shields this year. Not a species I've seen and think you would end up getting fish instead only hooked in numerous places rather than a squid as not very common round here at all

You will most likely need to get a boat mate as the water in the north is deep but would not think its is deep enough for squid

I use squid in the winter. Calamari is the big stuff and you get a box for a couple of quid.
I hook a couple of rag and thread up line-then i put razer on hook and feed this up then the squid. Usually with the tentacles hanging down. All tied on with bait cotton.
