I was up at 5 this morning so decided to hit the pier for a few mackerel, top the freezer up for winter. NOWT, not 1 single mackerel came up off the end for anyone, I moved along to the blocks for half an hour to try for a coley or pollock. I got a pollock on my 5th cast there around the pound mark (it went back so I can catch it when its gained a few pound 
)and that was it so packed up after 9.
I have had a couple sessions down the walkway the last few weeks, I fished with Davey (Blanked Again), no he caught fish actually lol, yeah good few whitings each. Same last week with Lenny, he beat me 16 - 12 with a 3 foot eel in with that lot of whiting.
So after a disappointing morning on pier today we decided to get some whiting for the table, we got so many trying for some cod getting some for dinner will be easy right, lets just say the chips and mushy peas are alone on the plate.
I caught a couple of flounders and the bairn got a small whiting and a mackerel, we met and chatted to JulioGeordio off here, nice chap and nice to meet you mate.
So both target species alluded us today, very strange fishing isn't it, just when you think you have the knack of it. Had a great days fishing all the same.
