SS pier Friday night

I got a few hours in on the pier last night, fished the 13 mark from about 5 until 9. It was quite windy early on but the wind had died down by the time I left, a little bit of ballast (some rocks in a carrier bag)on the stand was enough to keep it steady.
The fishing wasn’t great but plenty of bites to keep me busy. I had two flattie and a small codling before the sun went down but after dark it was all small whiting. Baits used were rag and mussel and it was the mussel that they seemed to be going for.
I met Garyp from NESA who fished a bit further up from me and faired about the same. Good to see you again Gary.
No fish worth taking any pics of but there was a nice sunset. Going back out today, hoping for some better fish.

I fished the groin at shields last night with big phil we fared about the same, did you see that large firework or meteorite?????

Was a canny night mate. Got a couple whiting, dab and a flounder.

I setup just down from the first gate, was good to get out, and nice to catch up again.

Like minded lol I also got a couple of pics, was a lovely sight they way the sun set like.

Tried the same spot again last night, nothing until it went dark then a whiting a cast, all undersize. Tried using bigger hooks and baits but still the same result. Baits used were rag, lug, mussel and mackerel.
There were plenty people heading up the pier and quite a few trudged back down again while I was still there, don't know if the fishing picked up later on, I got sick of the small whiting about 9 o'clock.
Still got bait left, might give the river a shot today.
