Had a few hours to kill so went out at lunchtime to fish the flood. Tried a blast off the end with bait and the lure rod, managed a few coalies and a small pollock. Moved down to the 40s after the maccy brigade started to rock up, as soon as I cast out Fishingmark rang to sat he was down at his wrasse hotspot so upped sticks again and moved another 150yds down the pier. Had a laugh watching him with his float rod out catching colie after colie. Last chuck and felt something on the end as it came in. Was hoping it was a plaice when I saw the flattie in the water but alas it turned out to be a flounder! D'oh!! Made a run for home as I'm out at a party tonight leaving mark sat on the wall lol :D

Nice little session almost spoilt by the muppets on the kayaks who cut a lads line ON PURPOSE after shouting to the pier that they were gonna do it and then the idiots on the pier who started to hurl 6oz leads at the kayaks. Could have killed one of the lads in the yaks. Not worth a trip to prison in reality... Gonna get the pier closed to everyone. Lads in the yaks got shouted at by the river pilot aswell for fishing directly in the channel between the piers.... Some people begged belief!

No wrasse today Marc. I got a blenny for the hunt and found out what fish was nibbling the bait and nicking off close to the wall, it was a little bullhead like I said lol. Cheers again for the worm mate.

I was there from about 2.30 nothing much coming in but a guy i've seen a few times up there,he wears a white cowboy style hat hooked a big cod on the spinner, easily 5lb plus, a few of the other lads tried to get it up the wall but the line snapped and it swam away with the spinner still in its mouth, he was gutted to say the least.

That's why you don't try and lift em up the wall! Lol. Lads with the winter gear would consider a walk around to the steps so there was no chance with a spinning rod. Couple if nice 2-3lb pollock early doors aswell.... Fingers crossed for a good summer!
