Me and a mate fished around the 42 mark yesterday 2 hours up 1 down. It was pretty much a bite every cast cast on rag and mackerel but just small dabs the result. Caught 7 which all went back ok. One was deep hooked so I cut the line, the rest lip hooked.

My mate got a big mackerel on the retrieve which might be the last we see this year ? Frozen down for bait.

I was amazed how positive the bites were using braid even at long range. Only me second session with that but I might stick with it.

Nice report mate, sounds like a nice busy session!
And I use braid off the piers sometimes too! I wouldn't use it on a stiff rod though, you will bump a lot of fish off! And I set the clutch pretty light as well just in case!

Nice session mate plenty of bites as well, I'm out today fist time for a few weeks hope its productive

Just got a Penn Affinity 15' and I like it, seems ideal for the braid and really easy to cast.

Chucking about 90 to 100yds onto clean sand with a 2 hook flapper mate, size 2's rag tipped off with mackerel. Dabs were at it sometimes before I could get tightened up. Would have been nice to get something bigger but a few bites better than nowt.
My mate tried dropping shorter in search of a better fish but kept getting snagged, seems to be loads of snags there to about 50 yards out.

Some lads were on the 44 and they stayed on after we left at around 19:00. Hopefully they had a few fish.

Gate was closed already when we got off the pier around 19:30 or a few minutes after. No bother to go round.

Hope your session goes well.
