went down to shields pier to try out my breakaway cannon on my new rod,took my light gear down aswell for couple of casts,headed half way up the pier,practically empty due to the lightening,sharp filled up tho,anyway using a trusty zennith spinner,had few casts,the herring sprat were hopping out the water all over,foul hooking them on retrieve nearly every cast,anyway had half hour play,ended up with cuple mackerel and a small pollock,mackerel kept for the pan and pollock returned to fight another day
