Cheers in advnace guys

Me and my mate were fishing on the float on Shields pier on Friday, between the last set of steps and the "small wall" didn't get a lot as such, well loads of 6-7 inch coalies!:D

Saying that, a fortnight ago, I was pulling in loads of coalies from the same spot, around 10 - 12 inches in length-much better sport and great fun.

There's a few "regulars" on SSP who target the pollock on the sea side of the wall, usually just up from the "blocks", sitting on the top of the wall and they pull the odd decent fish in.

good luck

cheers guys.

whats the parking like there. is it free parking or pay per hour

The parking is pay per hour or £3 all day.
If you try with the float around the area where the second gate used to be (you can still see the hinges on the wall) and a bit further up. Fish into the sea side with a 6-8ft drop with the tide coming in and you should get pollack and the odd wrasse.
