Well, finished work at 3am but some how managed to get down onto the pier by 7am, it inially looked like it would be a nice day although water clarity was shocking.

A half dozen lads already fishing so I set myself up on the left of the blocks with the intention of catching a Pollock or two. Fishingmark turned up not long after and began to set up his gear. Managed a couple of launce and a small joey mackerel before mark was set up and cast out.... then his reel blew up and wouldn't wind back in ... he wasn't amused!
He eventually got his gear back in with 2 coleys hanging on the end... once he put them back he headed off back to 'marks wall' to continue his one man war against the wrasse population of the north east!
Managed one good hit which was diving all the way in before it came off and I didn't even get to see it... felt like a half decent fish, possibly a Pollock or maybe a big coley... who knows! :casstet:
Caught a few coley and mackerel before setting back for home about 8:30. Went and met up with Mark again but he wasn't having as much look as the previous week.. a few takes but no fish. Sat around for 15mins or so... Marks float shot under!! Here we go I thought.... and up pops this monster....

Possibly the smallest Pollock I have ever seen caught... I honestly thought the ragworm had grabbed it but no, it was actually hooked lol

We both diddled off after that as high water came and the fishing died off.... got home and managed to blast out 24miles on my bike, all before lunch! Canny day out,
Cheers
