Had a walk along the pier tonight. Halfway up the slab I saw a bloke spinning with a fixed spool reel, rod upside down, reeling backwards! I sh!t u not! Its 20 years since I saw someone do that

ha ha on the end on sunday there was a polish bloke who was twisting his full body side ways to cast out similar to the hammer throw at the olympics i thought it must have had something to do with all the green him and his mates were smoking. also seen a old asian bloke using a 10oz cannon ball boat lead on a spinning rod

On Wednesday, the kid who went over the side into the water, after his mates rod,was doing the same thing-upside down, winding backwards.

Nobody, not even his "mates", bothered to try to point out the easy fix:confused:

Haha, that's exactly what I am trying to stop my 6 year old from doing at the minute. he isn't moving the rod, but twisting his body instead - but as I said, he is only 6!

10 oz cannon ball wtf man sum right people get on those piers at this time of year man. :o

Would love to take the bairn fishing on the piers to catch something but people like this are one of the reasons I dare not! I am trying to teach him good fishing habits etc, but this time of year with some dodgy folk around its quite hard!

I was up in Eyemouth at the weekend visiting the in-laws and my mother in law was showing me some of the decent marks up there - just as we passed one a bloke caught a fish and after reeling in he began to throw it repeatedly against a rock until it was dead rather than use a priest! Might just be me from coming from a trout background but it just seemed a bit dodgy.
