Looking to fish South shield pier some time this week with the lads but haven't fished it before, so just looking for some advice, on decent mark, rigs, bait ect

Any help would be great.

Does anyone know if roker is open or when does it open?

1st seat past the first gate, 42-44 marks, lug has been doing better than crab and pulley rigs.

42 to 45 on flood - sea side, end on ebb I would suggest. Cast at least 75 yards to clear snags
