st mary's lighthouse

There are some good marks on the island itself and the surrounding area. Park at the carpark (pay and display before 8pm). Looking north towards blyth(left hand side of the causeway) is West Bay, and is fishable in a big sea. Crisps Gully is my favourite mark on the island, head over the causeway and up the stairs, follow the path to the left past the cottages and down the stairs looking towards blyth. Over to your left is crisps gully. A good depth of water at high water and the fish will become concerntrated into the gully itself as the tide drops, although varying casting distance often pays off. On the south east corner of the island there is a stone pillar with a gully running out to it. Fish here on the ebb casting parallel to the gully. Best bait this time of year will be crab, mussell and lug baits are also good. Hope this helps and good luck!
