Had a fantastic session fishing with a mate of mine today, we arrived 9.45 this morning and straight into fish. We had 29 fish between us two flatties the rest were all whiting. Bait used was mackeral, ragworm and lugworm but majority of the fish were taking mackeral. I got a massive prawn out of one of the fishes mouths that must have been shop bought and a 4 inch small fish out of anothers mouth that had stuffed my bait in as well. We left at half two this afternoon but were kept busy all the time with bites, we ran out of mackeral around 1pm and caught less fish after then.three quaters of the fish we caught were in size as well. All in all a fantastic day but a bit windy. :)

Bites were typical whiting bits rattaling the rod like mad, I would recomend anyone going take a lot of mackeral for bait. I picked some mackeral up from morrisons fish counter and it was ready fillited and i got 5 sides of it for £2.50 and cut it into strips this done the two of us this week and last week as well. you can cut it into strips and freeze it and just get it out before you go fishing and if you dont use it all refreeze it again:). most of the fish were taken on just mackeral strips.
