fished the above this evening for a couple of hours down to low tide. baits used were frozen crab and runnydown left over from weekend. not a single bite in 2 and a half hours.
blank again but at least im getting out and about :)

Fished Glasshouse street Saturday night 5 hours up from low tide. Quite a few flounders and small codling. Had a few that were size and above, up to 39cm. Took 6 home. All of the fish I caught when the tide wasn't pulling much were deep hooked unfortunately.
Bait used was yellowtails.
The tides were getting bigger after this so that may be why you didn't touch much.
I generally won't fish the river if the high tides are above 4.7

As Dave says there are plenty of fish in river, you were fishing wrong state of tide for St Peters. Try fishing the flood.

cheers for advice fellas.it was a last minute decision to go. hopefully big tides this week will bring in some nice fish to start the winter
cheers :)

Where is Glasshouse Street Ray ?

Glasshouse Street is straight across the traffic lights from St. Peter's Club (Raby Street). Continue down the road across the mini roundabout where Bel Valves is on the right hand corner. Go straight down towards the river. There used to be an old factory on your left next to the river but it has been demolished. You can't miss it. Postcode is NE6 1AQ. On Google Earth you will see the old Spillers mill to your right at the mini roundabout. I used to fish the right hand side of Spillers until it was pulled down.

lads know it better as the green door,as there was a big green door on the side of old factory,an under estimated shot with lots of codling, flounders, coalys, and eels,on small tides, the downside is the amount of cars that are dumped over the side, never had any bother down there and it is well lit up so don't need lamp at night.. davy.

Yes! I nearly lost a 3.5lb codling there last year as it went for the passenger side window of an upside down Fiat 500!!:D

police have moved us a few times as they checked cars for any one inside. funny futher down at the riverside park and pottery bank area while crabbing usedto come across knives, mash hammers. tills, all sorts of things that had been dumped. davy.
