Am gonna take Jack up there some time over the hols as South Linden is now me local pond since Hazon Burn closed.....I went up there with a mate a couple of months back and it's a nice relaxed fishery, nice scenery and the fish are good scrappers.

Kids and fishing.

Kids and fishing.

Its great with the kids. I took my son and his two mates up roker yesterday. My son and one of his mates caught Mackaral the last time we went and my sons other mate Jordan who is nine caught a couple yesterday. I,ll not forget when he was reeling in the feathers on my spinning rod and he says "hey mick i think i,ve caught something" the rod was bending slightly with something heavy then it started fighting. The look on the kids faces when you pull the fish in.
I thought at one point the rod might get pulled from Jordans hands.

I cleaned up the four fish we got and put them in the freezer when we got home. Jordan who is 9yrs old took two of them home for his gran when i dropped him off later that day. She was gobsmacked when i said he,d caught a couple.

PS We are all going on a caravan holiday soon up Seahouses. Said to the missus you take the kids in your motor and i,ll take the dog and luggage in mine. I,m also going to hoy some fishing gear in.:).
The other half hates the smell of fish.:D
