Got down today about 12;30pm-sea looked fantastic. Thought there was going to be some good fishing today-bought some bait from Charlies massive rag.
Set off. On the way i felt the coldness in the strong north wind.
Set up near the bell corner only two other lads on-john (the gamekeeper) was on after another long session on the concrete section. Wind was bitter and blowing left to right across the front. It was really hard work-with lines swinging round. John had caught codling about 2 1/2 lb earlier-he looked tired.
Other lad in the bell corner caught a couple of whities and that was about it really.
Some big guns turned up in three jeeps with some top class live blacks for bait-thought this has got to throw up a cod-No.
In the end the wind chill and strong tide movement beat me so i moved up to the gate and had last couple of hours here. Caught two whities so did not blank.
I will be surprised if some of the big guns don,t score a cod later as conditions ideal.
