Well lads after 3 days out fishing i finally nailed my second best shore caught codling after 17 plus yrs. A nice Codling of about 4lb. Caught from the end of Steetly on a loaded razer bait.
Also nailed a smaller one to keep him company and a big whitie hooked through the belly which on the reel in thought "this is the BIG FELLA".

Few fillets in the fridge and a few days off to let the keanes in thumbs heal. Back to work next Wed so might fit another sesh in on Tues.

You did catch them yourself didn't you? Someone was starting romours that you had been given them, can't remeber who though.

Craig its that long since i had a cod bite i forgot what they look like.
I fished with two rods. My posh Abu Suveron with the supermag extra on and my old second hand Abu beachcaster with the 6500 copy.
The old rod got all the fish. When the biggest fish bit i was convinced a young lad crossed me from where he was on the end of the pier. Even reeling in i still thought the laddie had crossed me until i got nearer and realised it was a fish.Handballed up the side by myself.Also had another couple of good bites which i missed.My aim is to beat my 7lb record.

Well done mate, i was the lad who helped you reel in. I fished for about 4 hours after you left and guess what?! Nothing but whitey. Oh well better luck next time I go. Friday night.

Glad you found the forum Nick and thanks for your help. Thought that whitey hooked in the belly was me 8lb er. Never mind. Next time i,m down i,ll keep an eye out for you. Should,nt be to difficult to miss you in that new Imax suit. Not like my old smelly Sundridge. which has just dried out.
