Still plenty codlings

I fully understand that, having 3 young children of my own. However, I still get out when I can and learn something new from every trip.

For those in the same boat all I can offer you is to get out when the conditions are right to fish, and not just going out for the hell of it. I know sometimes its nice to just go out when you feel like it, but if it isn't during ideal conditions - you will always struggle.

That is excellent advice Sean, even though I don't always manage to stick to it myself.

I'm guilty of it myself, like I said - its nice sometimes to go out for the hell of it. You just have no grounds to complain if the fishing is poor when you do.

Well Done!

Rarely is big distance needed, fish holding features/deeper water/gullies etc are what you should be looking for. Get some casting lessons though, it's a useful addition to your armoury. You can always drop it short when you need to but its great to have that bit extra distance if its needed.
