I hope so, never had a herring or a ling as soon in the season...started the wrecking this year the same as i ended last years..lost 7 sets of gear to the rust below...in it to win it as they say

That's a cracking haul of fish there Rich. Well done! It always gets me wondering if the fish are there all year round but just not feeding? The trip I had before heading back to work I tried a load of wrecks with a great drift speed and not even a nibble but then some-one or thing flicks a switch and all of a sudden they are there?
I think I still subscribe to the idea they are there all year round but too busy spawning early on rather than feeding? Not sure if I am right or not though!!!!!

Had 3hrs out today, never wen far off just around Briar Dene and Tynemouth, me and my dad managed 3 codling and 4 coalie between us...cracking sea today but noticed alot of algi bloom starting, water was thick of it.

Weather is looking very good, i be in the lock at 6am so may see you close by Norman...target still even after a few catch reports is 1 size cod or ling each.

(I got steve out as well tomorrow so at least we're assured of a few scotchies and since Tone seems to like the taste of them then I`m now gonna count scotchies if they're big enough to keep)
