(I will start this by saying well done to Jason and Dave and that i had one of them days today..a off day)

With work on Sunday i had planned to make the most of today, met Jason and cou's Dave down the marina for a 12 hour sesh today. We set off full of hope after seeing the sea was a lazy swell but well fishable.

After a great trip i was torn about what to do, due to the number of boats on some of my Fav wrecks i opted to try a few others in a different location and a couple of new marks.

First wreck we took 2 ling to 7lb and 1 codling along with the now pest mackerel, we plugged away but noit a great deal doing so we set about moving wrecks but not before i put the breakfast on at 7.30am :)

So with full bellys we headed around the wrecks taken many and i mean many 3-5lb cod...like catching mackerel sometimes before Jason's rod goes over and up comes a new PB for him of just over 16lb

Followed by me with one of the biggest coalie i ahve caught then it was Daves turn, this is Daves 8th ever boat trip and i ahd promised him a double cod and ling before we go away on holiday in a few weeks, he got his ling on his 3rd trip and today he landed a 10lb 7oz cod for a new PB followed 10mins later by a PB of 14lb 5oz ocd..he was well chuffed and stopped fishing after that for the rest of the day instead sun bathing.

Me and Jason plugged away and as i said at the start i had one of them days, leaving my pirks at home, falling over on the boat, dropping a 12lber on the surface for me and losing a record set of gear for a single trip so i am gald to say Jason took the slack up landing a further 4 doubles of 10.8, 14,14.8 and 15.6 all cod.

So a great day had by all topped off with a MASSIVE whale 80 yards away from us blowing water in the air, we missed a photo opp and once it dived it was gone for the rest of the day...great big black backed whale (any ideas)

We ended the day with 7 DOUBLE COD 10.8oz-16+ and around 65 cod and ling between 3lb and 8lb along with coalie and mackerel

So as i posted a few days ago, seems to be alot of doubles on many wrecks this year...BIG well done to the crew for beating the PB today and a great day had by all.

All but the 7 pigs and a couple of 3-5lb cod kept, the rest went back to fight and become pigs :)

Another cracking report some good fish again.
Well done Jason that's a beauty clean 16 lb'er.:)

Hope that swell stays lazy for us tomorra.

Cracking day out again Richy , though if this continues it will become a "normal" day for you :) , I have seen a few whales when out of Amble , they are minkies , they always seem to be on a mission to go somewhere , straight line coming up to blow every hundred yards or so , not playful like the dolphins. They are big , bigger than the dolphins , but not really huge , fun to see things like that though eh?

what a day yous had well done bet seeing the whale was a nice sight good job there was no "reserch vessels" about you would of had to cut them off and threw what you could at them had to get that in i've just watch last nights whale wars :D

Can't understand it rich .... we had a bumper season last year which I thought was a real one off and was pleased to fish through but that was in numbers of medium sized fish...... this year we seem to be getting "Unheard" of numbers of Big fish ........ still .... better not to complaine eh?

well done for your lads today rich, great haul as ever.
