Stingray 26.5.11 Bang On

Flat seas, fish and T-shirt weather; that early start paid off for you Richie, well done. How far offshore did you go in the end? Heading out is OK but it’s a long haul back in once the weather changes.

You did it Rich, you made the call, and it payed off. I had things to do otherwise I would have been out there too. looks like you's had a fantastic morning in superb conditions, well done to the whole team, an enjoyable read,.:D:D

Cheers lads it was much needed.

14.7 miles from the pier end Kev was the max out, the tide line was 5miles out to sea with brown water over the dirty wreck and the others there....not seen it that far out for years.

That window and 3 weeks lack of fishing ws the only thing that gets me up at that time, poor Graham was counting ling by 7am and Dave yarned so many times he caught every fly in the air.

It was a nice change and a nice day but 6am is as soon as i will be out in future unless the lack of fishing gets to me again.

I'm with Richy on the departure time. The 04:30 departure yesterday was a one of I hope! Pleeeease Say It Was. 06:00 is fine who needs to be at the piers just to see the bloody sun coming up.

no romance in your soul eh Graham? fishing all about lunkers and penis extensions?

Aye it's a bite - 14st5lb is your new PB

hide behind your keyboard then...

if you want to infer things (or try and be humorous) because I struck a chord at your snide remark then dig out

Look forward to seeing Stingray out there tomorrow...despite the forecast ;)

Think this weather is getting to everyone , its not much better down here in Whitby...sat in a cafe looking out over the harbour as i type this, still busy for a wet and windy day.

Fishing is about having fun and something to look back at..happy hunting to everyone.

When we went out the majority of our fish was caught between 06:30 -> 08:30 after that it started to quieten down, by 10:30 id was completely dead.

being serious again for a moment, our early morning exploits are not simply to feel the pain of the early day but because time and time again (like joostan above) we find that our best catch period of the day is the first 3 hours, generally as the sun is rising and more so if the tide is on the flood.
Whats the views .........

we are out from hartlepool before "the crack of dawn" on sunday, last time we did this we bagged off.....i'm with slinky's team on this....;)

Alway found Dusk and dawn to be lucky times when fishing. I have never felt as bad getting up early for fishing as I do for an early start at work :D

I have not found any pattern for the time of the day, done good and poor from 5am until 9pm but the flood always fishes better as Norman says and the slack.

Good luck to anyone this weekend, sea smooth at Whitby from what i can see from the sea view cafe.

rich, get out of cafe and into pub, leave the hand bags loose on this thread it's a good one..................sunday is a stupid a'clock start for us lets base the tread on what we catch sunday.....heres hopin...;)

I think each to their own, i don't need to get up at 3.30 when i can look at Normans pics of the sunrise :), and cracking pics they are :).
I get up at at 5.15 am during the week :( and no man nor cod will get me out of bed before 7.00 on a weekend :D.

Hope to get out this weekend, all polish i've put on the boat i should get 25 knots out of it...:D;).....but not before 7.00..:)
