Well set off at 7am this morning, heading straight out to some old favs, after lotting them out and wetting a line i only picked up 1 codling about 3lb, so moved abit further off and down south, plotted out about 11 more down that way, fishing on some and not others.

Had a canny day out, but the old saying "no 2 drifts go the same direction" came flooding back lol

Had the odd little teething issue at sea but nothing bad and had a good day on my own messing about.

Ended the day with the normal mackerel whiting along the boats first 2 ling best about 11lb the other 4lb and 6 codling best 8lb 4oz smallest about 2lb.

Great day to test the gear out, covered about 30miles i would say.
Sitting at home with sun burn now, no idea how as it lashed it down most the day lol

See you's out there next time...pics added..

1st time i used them this year, only thing i could catch the cod on with the fast drift that day, the pirks just got snagged straight away.

Out down the boat at 6.30am Monday with a trip out with Jason, going to hit some 8-10mile wrecks but with the big tide and building wind it's all fingers crossed as i feel it will be a hard day.

Chatted with the mistress today (thats charter boat lol ) and they reported the same, hard going with the big tides and fast drift.

Will post a catch or none catch Monday night.
