With the conditions looking good for a cod or two i went to longsands beach. got there at 7.30 and it was blackpool luminations. i wanted to fish stoney bottom but it looked too busy so decided on bathing pool skeer. first 2 casts and the weed was terrible so packed up and headed up the beach.
Got to stoney bottom and there wasa nice hole in front of me but new it wouldnt be long before it emptied on the big tide. got setup cast out and within a minute or so i had a little rattle. left it for a few mins and pulled it in. was a nice 3lb codling took on blacklug. eventually i gets my first of the season. smiley-lol.gif
2nd cast i had a stonking bite picked the rod up and could feel it knocking struck into and felt like a really good fish. only for it to snag me up on the way in. But never mind at least i had the 1
hole emptied right out wanted to try off the skeer itself but there was 4 blokes on fishing a sea leaugue only seen one fish brought in between them.
decided to pack up and get the bus home about 11. roll on the next decent seas.
