Stopper Knot for bait

There's a particular knot that I've seen on ready made rigs that have a sequin below it in order to prevent the bait fleeing up the snood...

...anyone know it?

Is this vague enough for anyone to answer? :red::yltype:

i do a 3 turn grinner knot
but you can also get about 10mm of rig tube and thread is though its self to slide up and doown
it you know what i mean

It's line only... elastic and.... Jelly like... it stretches tight when you are doing your knot. When you finished the knot it relax's then grips your line.... i got some in my box.... from somewhere just noticed it the other day, good stuff though.

power gu is used mainly by fly fishermen,its great for sea angling,it is made from elastic does not damage rig line,used to use it a lot crimps are better,but be carefull not to over crimp as this damages your line

Try some Scooby's, what the bairns use for knitting together to make bracelets and other things. Tried them for a few different things and they work very well

3 m.m piece of silicone rig tube, pass line twice through it and pull,makes a nice moveable stop knot

crimps are better,but be carefull not to over crimp as this damages your line

when the crimp is set that is to a certain size worm bait up ,some like to fling a load up the snood thats why i prefer the knot type ,just my opinion

I just use those little skinny elastic bands. Dead cheap to buy a good size pack or even cheaper if you can salvage a few from work. Cut them to break the loop then a simple two loops around the snood, feed one end through the loops, wet it, pull tight and trim the ends to about 5mm. Tight enough to keep things in place but also easy enough to slide up or down if you need to move it.
The rig tubing is good aswell though you have to get the length right so that it folds over neatly otherwise it'll want to spring back into shape and make an 'L' shape with the snood.

I used to use the Rubber Float Stops kind of like these ones here (5th item down) Specialist Tackle - Manufacturers - Drennan - Clips, Tails and Stops but then when I was shown the loop through rubber tubing I found it to work pretty much the same, and a lot cheaper, and the tubing is also what I use for my pennel hooks aswell.

Use power gum for my float stops in the summer.

Made patternosters for Ireland with a crimp at the top but power gum below the bottom bead. When a fish takes hard the snood slides down to the link and the lead lifts out of the way a bit like a pulley. Useful on the beach.

Does that not put a big kink in the line if you move them?
