I have to agree with Jim here ,those first ones are breathtaking, typical of the U.S.A. to get bigger and better cloud formations , however Tony your pictures are without doubt the best as far as the North East is concerned.
No wonder the fish are spooked !
Reading into it ,it looks to me like we\'ve had snow clouds coming over (as we should ) but it\'s been too warm and caused Mammatus clouds OR IS IT JUST ME LOL !!

I thought at first the photos were a wind up giving TC\'s editing skills but if they\'re real then it\'s obviously Dr Who\'s tardiss either landing or taking off

No Graham....as I said:

\"I can honestly say (hand on wallet) that the picture shown is as it was when it was downloaded....no Photoshop work done on it at all (other than re-sizing the image to upload it.)\"

Not a peep, m8 :(

Mind you, it was me boss who sent the pix off to them.....he might\'ve heard something.....if he has, he hasn\'t mentioned owt.

Certainly not been on the telly........I\'ve been watching for it......lol.

Lol Steve.......picture shown tonight was of the 1st spring flowers starting to open in somebodys\' garden :o

Oh well......at least it must be getting warmer......lol

I only suggested Look North to the boss because Trai Anfield has got better looking legs than Bob Johnson.......hahahaha

Mind you...it is still JANUARY........those bonny little flowers will be killed off in the next frost.......

Whatever happened to the predicted \"Worst Winter since the Ice Age\".......still time yet......I doubt it.

He \'ll be very happy I would imagine mate ,I bet he\'s lying in bed now thinking ...how far off can I drop a bait from the boat using my remote control plane ?
Answers on a post card please Norman.

rounded pouches sometime develop on the underside of clouds
these are known as mamma and commonly occur beneath overhanging cumulonimbus anvils
and also with various other cloud types
they arise when cool moist air subsides from the cloud
while slightly drier clear air rises in the interveining spaces
the shape may vary from almost spherical masses lon, contorted tubes or a series of ridgesto a shallow, scalpolled effect

from my collins weather guidbook
