hi folks, stuart has now pitched camp at the side of loch sunart. he doesn\'t have a phone signal there but he pootles around abit in the car so if you want to send him any info or join him send him a text and it will get delivered eventually ha ha
me? i am thoroughly enjoying the peace and quiet :D

hope he\'s got plenty midge repelent (or skin like elephant hide) the side of sunart can be hellish.

tell him to get himself up to the lighthouse at the end of the point with a few spinners, or the pier at kilchoan. loads and loads of fish usually, ok the big uns aren\'t as common but plenty little uns (pound to 2 pound) to get him busy.

for what its worth, the people that own the pub in Kilchoan are from South shields!

hi mark,
yes he has loads of midge repellent, some especially made for scottish midges :P
will textt him those details so he wll get the info later this evening.
ta muchly

I read somewere that if you eat Marmite sarnies / on toast for yuor supper or breccy you later on sweat the Marmite out and the Mosquitos/ midgies dont like it, Its a bit rough if you dont like it though..... I spent 3 weeks at my sisters a few year\'s ago,She lives in Canada and is plagued by them in the summer and has a bad reaction to mozz\'ys, the gear she puts on Oil\'s sprays ect candles lights I could go on (and probably am) for hours, any way I always had Marmite on toast for breccy ( its good for hangovers vitamin B12 ???) and was only bitten once, I did\'nt bother with all the gear my Sis did, just sat in the sun and put it down to my dodgy aftershave,,,.. then I read this bit in the paper a few years later ..... dunn\'o if the Scottish mozzys are any diferent give it a go , you\'v nowt to loose,,, Tich

You\'re right about the Marmite Tich, it\'s the B vitamins that puts them off. I was working in Japan a couple of years ago and we were advised to take B Complex vitamin tablets to stop the mossy\'s biting. Worked a treat!

Learn something new every day on here, just came back from Scotland and i\'m covered in bites, kept meaning to go to the chemist,\"ill go tomorrow\" lol, first time in years of holidaying in Scotland that i\'ve been bitten.
