Squid jigs. Attach the line at the plain end. The squid latches it's appendages round the hooks on the business end. Doubt they are used much around here

Make them glow with a strong light before casting,a camera flash works a treat.
There are some big Squid off our coast, up to 2ft long.
Have a look what local trawlers land on the fish quays.
