posted on 11/10/2004 at 22:28Went down to the Panama 7pm for a few chuck's with my mate Col.. we were hoping to bump into Willy( Ill re phrase that) hoping to bump into Mr wettegg (sorry Jim) when we got down there was loads of lads straeched along the beach, from the horse shoe rocks allthe way along to the cafe I think there must have been a local comp on, I didnt know were Mr Wettegg was and rather than walk along the beach asking all the lads if they were Willy wettegg and the chance of a smack in the face, we decided to move up the beach to Little Bay,and have a few chucks there,,, the result was 5-0 to me,, Col had a nightmare of a trip, you all know what I mean, nothing goes right, Col had snag after snag lost about 60yds of line after a big birds nest, and was generaly well peed off with the night,, Me I scored a hat-trick with 3 rockling in a row,, (wowee!!!) then hit on a nice coalie, just as the tide turned Bang something hit my line, struck,, nothing,, left it out another 10mins brought it in with what I thought was a nice 2.1/2 lb cod on the end, untill I turned it over,, just behind the fin next to its gills yhere were 2 big holes, you could see its back bone through one of the holes,, I dont know if a seal had , had a go at it and it had got away or what but it went straight back, dont know if that was the right thing to do??? it looked fit and healthy it was'nt skinny, infact quite the reverse ,,,, is there any rules on returning what looked like a well dieseised (ILL. my spelling is not to good) fish ,???,, twenty mins later up pops another cod , about 2 lbs, in exelent condition,, gutted him on the beach he was well stuffed with shrimps, so he's now sitting in th fridge (not litlerley) & tea tommorow is looking good
appologies to Jim, hope you had a good night out & thers a few in the fridge for your tea,, I will bump into you one of these days... ps all fish caught on a rag lug coctail with a nice sea running fron the south east Cheers Tich
