Me and our Davey were going to fish Seaburn Beach tonight but couldn't get parked anywhere near, so went to S/Shields beach and fished the Trow rocks end from 21:30 - 04:00.
Sea as flat as a witches but plenty of bites and plenty of fish
Ended up with 12 between us: 1 bass to our kid about 1 3/4lb (returned) 2 plaice, 2 coalies and 7 whiting (2 returned) All the fish were a decent size, the smallest caught was 1lb.
Fished scratching rigs with size 1 hooks (getting a bit practice in for the comp) and lug and squid did the damage. All in all a good night

Go on rub it in keed. I've spent the last 3 years and god knows how much buying a saltwater fly outfit, saltwater plugs etc etc and you go and get one on lug with a size 1 hook.
Excellent fish though keed, well done mate
