fished 2and a half hrs down and about half hour back up - used mackerel and rag on 3 hooker flappers and single hook flattie rigs
me and my mate hit into a squadron of micro flatties that were no bigger than the size of your palm!! good fun and a nice couple hours out - we thought some big flatties were going to arrive, we thought if theres babies theres got to be adults but we were wrong!!!
there wasnt much swell on - the water was a flat as a pancake so it probably wasnt the best time, however one thing we did see was a lot of terns diving right in the river mouth near the big sand bar, looked a good sign but nothing came of it!!!!

I spent most of my youth fishing here i find best time is to fish between 1-3 hrs back for flatties. I used to fish right where the beach meets the river casting diagonally towards the 3 silos at cambois.
You can usually see from the disturbed water the best place to cast. use small hooks and mackerel strip and your almost guaranteed a good few flatties.
Won a good few club matches from this spot and has a few bonus sea trout too!
