Fished Seaburn beach last night from 8:30 with our kid, started off ok, 1 bass about a pound returned, 3 whiting, one about 1lb other one 1 1/4lb one undersize returned. Rob got 2 whiting, one about a 1lb other returned. Sea flattened right off and the knocks stopped, so we moved to the rathouse about 01:00.
I got 2 whiting about a pound each and 2 undersized codling, returned.
Rob got 3 whiting all over the pound mark, and the most ugliest slimey thing imaginable, don't know what it was, about 5 inches long, it had swallowed the hook, beads and had worked it's way up the snood, ended up having to cut the snood off to remove it urggghh.
The wind changed to a north easterly and it was lashing down, so we packed up about 5:30 and headed home for bacon sarnies and beer.
All in all a canny nights fishing.

You forgot to mention that I broke my record for the most crabs caught in a session, including the biggest velvet swimmer I've ever seen, damn those Kamasans

No replies to your catch report yet again keed? Are people worried for the 18th? (NESA comp if you haven't realised lads)
Seen a lot of people moaning lately about the lack of fish (NESA, ANE and NEA). In the last 4 weeks me and our keed (back after 20 years and neither of us rate ourselves as top class anglers) have caught 45 fish (only 16 returned under NFSA size limits) and had a THOROUGHLY GREAT TIME!
33 whiting
2 bass
2 pouting (scotchies)
2 plaice
2 codling
2 coalfish
1 flounder
1 rockling
You've got to be in it to win it lads (and you're doing your bit for the RNLI)
It's not the winning, it's the taking part, a basic NESA philosophy for the newbies (and the fact that you're doing your bit for our charity)
NB: for all the newcomers; get your a*ses in gear, and DO YOUR BIT lads! (and don't forget to make your pledges regards the prize pool, especially ifyou fancy your chances )

Davy/Rob, which end of the beach were you at? A lad I used to fish with years ago used to have some good bags all along the beach.
