Just got delivery of a new Anyfish Rock rod and had to try it out so headed off to the pier end just as the sun went down (no macky bashers). Tackled up with a 5oz lead just to wet the line and get a feel for the rod. I was pleasantly surprised how the rod behaved (just as described by Anyfish) as I was expecting a stiffer beastie. I couldnt be more wrong. It casts well with no snatching and will easily cope with a big crab bait a lump of lead.
Used crab all night. Second cast a 2lb codling while the 2 lads to my left were catching one just about every cast. After 4 hrs fishing I left with 4 codling to size (2 under) and a good size pouting. All in all a nice night to spend on the end of the pier whilst getting entertained by the 2 lads ( 1 stoned and the other pis**d) and very pleased with my new purchase.
