Such a shame

Well what a shame the sea is rough today as the rest of the weather is cracking.

After sitting looking at the almost no wind and sun blazing i decided to go and give it a bash, checked the web cams and weather and it all pointed to being a choppy sea.
Headed out anyway with the idea of staying close in and having a few drops, a few drops was all i had. Got the the mouth of the river and met with big rollers and choppy sea, went over the normal clos ein marks and took 4 codling in 6 drops all around the standard size 2-3lb and a coalie 7", after being bashed around the boat i headed back in and it was nice to get out but not nice fishing...still 1 hr was better than no hours.

Credit for trying Richie and managing to catch fish . The waves were coming over Roker Pier today so that was me scuppered....

wednesday looks the best day up to now , probably the only day il get out this week

Yer i am out Wed but have family on board so wont be going far off and be sticking with close in for a few codling and mackerel i hope.

Weekend looking iffy so far but all could change and no doubt will before then , June was my best month last year for fishing with best catches and most doubles with 2 cod over 15lb so fingers crossed this June will be the same.

Take my hat of to you Richie, I was fishing on tynemouth pier, and there was some very big swells coming through the piers, but what a glorious day otherwise. Well done on the catch. Not much on the pier except undersize codling etc;

Silly really rather than anythign else, only went out on the off chance and went against my rule, if you think it is unsafe dont go...and i went and lasted 1hr.

Roll on Wed first double of the season....i hope

I stick to my instincts," If in doubt divvent gan oot," I have ignored it once or twice especially when I/We have a guest on board, normally would have not bothered, but you"v half promised a mate so you try your best,even if its a little ifffy, had 2or 3 trips like that, caught nowt or gotten well wet or blown all over the gaff .. Its just not worth it...
