welcome to nesa mate i hear the blast beach is a good mark i think its down your way i have never fished it before though:)

just bought my new Greys GRX-s and love it

but can still only cast 40-50 yards at most

gonna keep trying though, even though mate keeps taking the water about the distance i'm getting.

he says i should be getting 100yrds+ with me being 21years old.

plenty of practice mate you will get there in the end i have been fishing for about 3 years now and i still struggle with my casting good luck mate sometimes you dont need to cast far the fish are under your feet :o

i have been fishing dene holme area with mixed success. If you fish with small baits on a two hook rig with size 2 or 1 hooks you should get fish, The beach has been fishing better in day light.

Tommy i start to fish the beach in sept till march or april after that its a waste of time. but you can get mackerl down there in the summer

Seaham club is a good place to start tommy, fished theyre summer matches last year and found the lads to be a canny bunch and very helpful. If you join the club it costs you an initial £25.50 but with that you also get a key for the north pier whickh will give you easy fishing and it is a good mark too. Just read reports of some thornback rays and dogfish off there aswell just last week. Kenny from the club gets on this site so he will give you more info on the club and prices etc.

will put a list of prices on later when i get a full breakdown but i believe it is £26 .50 for an adult with the key , if a group of lads fish together then you can get one key between you . at the moment best time to join is friday or saterday after 10 am and phone to make sure someone is there before going the number is 0191 5810321

go down the road under the viaduct, follow the road down and then fish about 100 yards right, if you fish directly in front to about 200 yards left theres some bloody bad snag out there, couple local lads told me its a pipe, if it is then it runs paralel to the beach, personally i think its either kelp or a lost net thats hung up, theres other marks down the left hand side of the beach - fox holes etc but i aint tried them yet, further up right you have crimdon apparently a good bass beach and further on again steetly pier, dont know about blackhall rocks so cant comment, seahams worth joining but without a car your buggered getting there, same as with seaton carew, another good bass mark in front of the sand dunes

You don't really need a monster cast at Horden anyway mate. When my son was little he was just clearing the breakers and getting fish.

was a member when i was a youngster and thinking of joining again.Do you still need a photo, wheres the clubhouse now as ive heard its been knocked down, and is the parking still available on the roadside near the police hq or do you have to leave your car in some deserted backstreet and have to walk miles.
ps sorry about all the questions but its been a while

two passport photos needed , club is still in the same place at the moment , expecting to move around the corner in about a month or so . park on waste ground at the top of the docks where the old main gate was , just south of where the cop shop was .
