Well I am going to try the open sea on Sunday .
Fishing in the river is ok but it never feels quite right.
So if the sea is not to big I will be fishing the cat and dog steps at roker/seaburn.
There will be me , mad rob, and toonboymc if he is man enough.
Got live yellows abit rag , muscle and squid.
I will post a report on Sunday of how we got on.

Forecast is for easterlies so Cat and Dogs will more than likely be awash,as will most seaward marks.Looks like it will be the river for the three amigos!!

Dont think ya will be fishing the cat n dogs mate way to big for there
and for fishing the bay good luck 25 mph east wind gusting to 35 mph
trying to cast in that will be like ****ing in the wind so they say i would
stick to the river mate.

I know I will have to change my casting style to cast through the wind but even if can get get 60-80yrds out that will be great I just have to try it.
There must be one cod out there somewhere.
I think I will have to step up to 7oz weights though.
So if you see someone cast like he is mad that will be me lol.
Here fishy fishy.

Think I will try the river there might be one or two sheltering from the heavy sea, u will do well to hold bottom in that, I'm looking out my window now and the sea at horden looks massive

i was fishing the middens prom at high water few weeks back when there was a big eastly and the waves were coming over at the brigade hut.

mouth of tyne may chuck something up with this huge easterly middens prom haven rocks depending on how big the sea is.

Just been down to Roker, and there is no way you could fish between the piers.Even the Ratty is getting a good soaking as the swells are massive rolling up the river, and when high tide hits they will be rolling over the top of the ratty. Also had a dodge to Glass centre, and the town bridge ,nobody at the Glass centre but you could fish there and a couple of lads were fishing the town bridge but had just got down so not to report fish wise. The sea was as rough as I have seen it for a very long time ..waves were breaking over the round head and the south pier was getting a right bashing, the waves must have been crashing at least a hundred feet in the air and the wind was that strong it was blowing the water across to the Ratty .Defo no chance of fishing the open sea!!!When it drops off a bit there has got to be some fish about after the good stir up.
