The Sea is raging at the moment, i be shocked if anyone makes it out in the morning even with the winds dropping right off later today. Still a strong NE wind blowing up the Tyne 10 mins ago.

I hope it is ok sunday, my last chance of getting out before my hols. After trying to get out Wednesday with no joy, looking forward to hopefully a good days fishing.

Fingers crossed for a trip out this weekend.

If anyone knows the god to pray to then let me know.

It feels like autumn when walking the dog.

The winds dropping off and the sea is looking a lot less lumpy than it was an hour ago. I've looked with the binoculars from my upstairs window, there's no white horses showing and the wind is set to swing to the North West which will flatten it even more. We'll definitely get out on Saturday morning and it's forecast to improve as the day goes on.

the sea is still big been down the coast about 5 ,30
the waves were crashing over the pilot boat when it was taking one of the car ferries out , took a while for the pilot to transfer back on aswell
think it might settle for a late afternoon fishing session if we are lucky jeff

The swell forecasts aren't too bad for Sat. I may take a boat out……..
on Sweethope :) and wait until Sunday before sea fishing. That is, unless the forecasts are right and the sea drops off a lot. Given how rough it was an hour ago, it seems unlikely to be very calm tomorrow. A rolling swell is the best we can hope for.

I can see the sea from my bedroom (maybe I should set a webcam up!?)

The sea has settled remarkably and does not look too dirty.

In my opinion it will be fine tomorrow...

Big tide though :yltype:

That's already a lot calmer than it was at 5pm Tony, your vid shows it's getting better quickly. Saturday may be on for an afternoon trip yet.

We are having a look in the morning it could still be breezy first thing swell gone down from 5.6 mtrs this morning to 1.7 mtrs on the whitby waverider bouy when i just looked so its dropping like a stone hopefull under 1.5 mtr by morning if you look on the cefas site click on the weather bouys it gives you all the present and previous data .
