Left the marina at 9.30 to try the rough ground off Hendon with Big Tel the cabin boy. What a cracking morning sea was like a mill pond :). Had all sorts of bait, tried close in and 2 mile out, even anchored a wreck. Tel managed to catch 1 Pouting but it was a beauty, about 2 1/2lb and that was it. Decided to call it a day at 3.30 and went to haul the lobster pot, guess what "nowt" :(. Plenty of boats out so would'nt mind some feedback on catches.
Hopefully another month and we'll be baggin up......

re lobster pot

re lobster pot

what did you use for bait? we have the most success with flatties, usually get a few flatties whilst beach fishing, only use the ones that are hooked to deep to return alive, shame, but they dont go to waste

unlucky on not catching much mate the fishing at the moment is poor allround
hopefully it picks up soon atleast it was a nice day for you cant beat a nice flat sea good luck next time

Used a frozen mackerel i had off last year, it's the first time i've put a lobster pot in as i've just got the license. Would have liked to use fresh bait but cant catch any at the moment.
You manage to get the prop sorted Deano.......

im still waiting for it to arrive mate decided just to buy a new one instead of getting this 1 re-bushed as it had a few chips out of it hopefully i get it before the weekend so i can give it a blast in the river

Thanks for that info Durham Lad, stale bait it is, cant wait to get my first lobster. £95 for a prop Deano, can be expensive this boating game but worth it when you're out there pulling in the fish :) I looked at getting a stainless prop for mine as the paint has flaked off the original, the price is stupid so i'll put up with cosmetic damage till i win the lottery..
