Got a call of a mate to say we had a window for some wrecking so we steamed out into glassy smooth waters at 7:30am. We stopped at 4 mile to pick up some machines but there was none. ?? So straight out to a group of new wrecks for us and 1st drop produced so nice cod mainly around 5-8.5lb
As the tide slackened we found some mackies so we moved to a couple other wrecks we know produce fish, shads and mackerel traces were the order of the day and both pulled fish continuously. We headed in as the wind freshened and made for a bumpy ride home. Biggest of the day fell to me with a fish weighing 9lb 14oz on deck couple of hours later weighed 9lb 1oz on land we kept a dozen fish for the pot with a few smaller ones thrown back (4lbers)
