Had a few hours out today uptiding and downtiding, tried 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile out and drifted a wreck. The only fish we had was a plaice on the first drop after that nothing. Had yellow tails, sandeel, runnydown and squid, but it doesnt matter what bait you have if the fish aint there you aint going to catch any.
Still nice to get out though, weather was spot on..

Norman to be honest you're not missing much and the weathers warmed up a bit, so nows the time to get all the jobs done ready for the spring. I met Sixfootsteve this morning and sold him a rucksack, he's a nice lad and sings your praises...

We had a little jaunt out to the ling wreck to charge the batteries, only had manky mackeral for bait so as expected - Zilch!!

Kieth is the ling wreck just south of the tyne pier, we were off Souter and could see a boat up that way..

Virtually straight out the piers, there was also a coble doing a spot of angling as well.

Hopefully it'll pick up so the fish are hungry enough to take anything, even manky mackerel. We tried drift fishing the much talked about sandeel but no joy there either...

At least you got the engine warmed up and the sump oil stired, but like you say, you can't catch whats not there.
